While most in the industry at best mislead the customer, or at worst outright lie to potential customers, the components contained in the system they sell are manufactured by them. The truth is, almost every single so-called OEM in the USA of school bus camera systems is simply a Reseller selling China-made components, and when they put several China-made components together, they then create “their OEM system”, which is at best a combination of good components, to at worst a Frankenstein horror show.

School bus camera systems usually come with a standard 1-Year warranty covering the equipment and the service and or replacement of said equipment due to defects in the equipment from the manufacturer.
The reason is that most China-based manufacturers of mobile DVRs and vehicle cameras offer the same 1-Year warranty free of charge to those reselling their components in so-called systems.

There was one company we worked with for a brief period offering 3-Year warranties, but when I saw in person, they woud not honor their 3-Year warranty, unless the customer who suffered a near 100% system failure shortly after a large number of installations, then purchased another large order of their systems, I realized their word and their warranty were both useless. Due to this violation of principle, I quickly parted ways and thereafter refused to represent them or clean up their messes.

The school bus market at this time has companies offering 1-Year, 3-Year, and 5-Year warranties on equipment.
