The future of school bus camera systems is unclear, but the past indicates that the continued progression from older SV systems with VGA (640x480 resolution) will soon shift to 4K, 8K, or higher resolutions. The reality is that most of our eyes cannot distinguish the minuscule differences between 4 K and higher resolutions.
The storage of higher and higher definition images eventually negates the higher detail in those higher definition school bus cameras, as the files become too large to work with.

Currently, even non-school bus applications such as Forklift HD Industrial Operator Safety Camera Systems are incorporating the higher definition cameras that now require the massive storage of 1TB or higher slide-in SSDs.
