Third Party Integration = Unaccountability

Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to find the responsible party to correct problems in the technology products you use?

There is a political term that is often used to deflect blame and accountability; “Plausible Deniability” is often used in Tom Clancy-inspired movies.
The implied meaning is what we are unaware of or do not control, we cannot be held responsible for, and all blame can be directed to the other party. This has now become a business model to some extent.

Do you ever wonder when your Internet fails, why when you contact your Internet provider, they ask; what modem you have, what devices you are using, how many devices you are using, if all have updated firmware and software, and how old all components of the system are, if your credit card billing has changed, if your contact numbers have changed?

The reason why they immediately focus on everything except the product they provide, Internet service connection, is that if they can deflect the blame from their product or service to any other third party service or product, they can immediately establish “Plausible Deniability” and protect themselves from the ultimate responsibility of solving your service problems.

The desperate attempt to find some other reason their service might be failing you is evident in the extreme efforts they make to try to find any possibility of a suspicion that it could be some other reason. In the past, when calling for technical assistance, I have been asked what OS my computer uses, like that will affect their Internet connection speed.
Some have asked what websites we are trying to visit, implying a domain has some control over your computer's ability to see that home page unless we are trying to get to some clandestine CIA, FBI, DEA secured connection site this is a stretch, but still, they are trying.

Example #1; Suppose there is a problem with the video file evidence from a School Bus Camera system sold by one distributor, installed by a service provider, and video files reviewed by another party.  Students With Disabilities & Special Needs Transportation Video Cameras are employed by districts to document and verify the safe, responsible transport of students with special needs. Most school districts have their service shop persons who service and maintain the buses and install the cameras for school buses as they are the best qualified with knowledge and experience of working on the buses they maintain and are less likely to damage them.

Example #2; Private Service Contractor Charter Transport Compliance Bus Camera Systems are usually to meet the compliance requirement of their contracted customers who may require said school bus cameras on their vehicles. In this case, you have the manufacturer of the products, the distributor of the products, the installer of the products, the charter contractor, and those viewing the school bus video camera files when there is an incident.
With this many separate entities involved, it can be very confusing and difficult to assign accountability to where the problem is, who caused it and who is responsible for the correction of that problem.

Example #3; There is a common desire for the management tools such as Live View, Live GPS Tracking in Students With Disabilities Wheel Chair Transportation Video Camera equipped buses, Elderly Day Care Shuttle & Assisted Living Transportation Vehicle Video Cameras.

The best solution for this problem is a “Turn-Key Managed Solution,” where the distributor of a Pupil transportation Cameras system provides the product, installs the product, and manages the daily operation of the product for the school district. While this is the best solution, this is out of the realm of reality for all but the most over-funded institutions, such as the Ivy League colleges.

Even the most dangerous occupations rated by OSHA, Forklift Industrial Lift Truck Operator Safety Camera Recorder Systems, do not have the luxury to get their vehicles protected in a way that eliminates all the third-party finger-pointing when problems occur.

The highest risk fleet vehicle management markets with high liability exposure due to their passengers incorporate vehicle video camera recording systems to ensure management oversight and instill a level of accountability:

In most Student Transportation School Bus Surveillance Camera applications, the best one can do is:

Purchase from a supplier with at least 30 years of sales and service experience,

Purchase from a supplier who is not embarrassed by their system pricing so they put their pricing online,

Purchase from a supplier who offers a choice of a 10-Year Camera Warranty or Lifetime System Warranty,

Purchase from a supplier who honestly and openly documents the product service-related issues in “Service Memos posted online for all to see, so they know exactly what they are getting and what the past service record is for the product.

That company is American Bus Video Inc.
The lifetime system warranty is the “Testudo Lifetime System Warranty.
The listing of system pricing is on three company websites
The disclosure of system problems, defects, or service-related issues can be found in the “Resources” link at the top of the page; select the system model and select the “Service Memo” link for a listing of product service-related issues.
