Thanks Rush For Showing Me the Light

It has been said possibly by you in one of your many best selling books, "If you are not a Liberal by the age of 20, you have no heart. If you are not a Conservative by the age of 30, you have no brain".
Well I confess, almost to the day of my 30th birthday this was true for me. I was irresponsible, hedonistic to a fault, relied on others to clean up my messes, blamed others for my self created problems and failed to accept the consequences of my irresponsible actions at every turn. Waiting with my hand out for anything I could get, I eagerly traded Freedom and Liberty, for a perceived level of comfort. I was a pathetic individual wasting a life, mine.
My best friend Robert Safran suggested I listen to "this incredible guy on talk radio named Rush". For the first time in my life, politics made sense, complex political events a world away came into focus and I could see the positive changes and the damage done by our elected representatives. In simple language, colorful illustrations, cognitive satire and wit, you made the complex understandable.
I also realized I was wasting the limitless opportunities earned for us by our Forefathers, so naturally as I became more educated in the political environment, I saw a Democrat party who chose to divide Americans, pitting rich against poor, playing black against white, man against women, workers against management, consumers against companies, punishing those who worked harder and succeeded with higher taxes, emasculated our armed forces, tied the hands of our intelligence agencies, advocated every technique to breakdown the family unit, promoted every way to normalize the fringe behaviors in so many ways they were destroying everything America was about.
The other party had core beliefs, had values, respected individual rights, encouraged achievement, encouraged rewarding those who worked harder and succeeded, encouraged the continuation of the family as the best developed unit to raise children, they embodied many of the values I believed America was founded on. I do not believe the Republican party is perfect, there are many areas where it needs serious change, but I am confident the Democratic party leaders will destroy everything America stands for, if given the chance.
Those who state your listeners are mind numb robots getting marching orders from you on a daily basis, are demonstrating their level of ignorance about your show and are greatly underestimating the level of intelligence of your audience. The rule of the Mainstream Media is coming to a merciful end with the combined popularity of cable news, and the resurgence of Talk Radio as a way to get what the Mainstream Media refuses to give us, the facts without bias, spin and propaganda for their chosen agenda.
Like the meteor that may have ended the dominion of dinosaurs 65 million years ago, you my friend, were the meteor that brought a viable alternative to the lock step, synchronized Liberal agenda promoting bias of the Mainstream media. Long in the future, they will look back in history at your contribution to this process of change, and in retrospect your influence and impact will appear as overwhelming and sudden as the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs.
So many of us owe you a debt of gratitude and love, for being a beacon of hope, a advocate of individual achievement, self determination, one of Americas most consistent advocates, a man of reason, engaging entertainer, an island of sanity in a sea of propaganda and misinformation.
