On Religious Leaders
Gentlemen,
I do not consider myself an activist, so I do not know if this will be well received or not, but I am a realist, and tired of being misled by elected officials or their often partners in crime throughout history the church.
There is a well document alliance of corrupt government and clergy our forefathers were escaping when they conceived of America. They learned well not to make the same mistakes by permitting a state sanctioned religion
Honestly I care not who prays to what God, or does not believe in any God, who worships what deity, or who washes their hands with the doctrine of servitude.
I can respect any man regardless of their beliefs, for their sheer humanity.
I believe in truth and agree with many that in many ways this simple personal disagreement of theology has been taken to a new low as those who believe in Intelligent Design, are now to a large extent abandoning the legal system and in some cases the court of public opinion and going directly to a process that both undermines the ability of free thought and reason to prove or disprove their claims, while at the same time changing the very definition of the terminology in order to win by caveat.
This concerns me as this completely undermines the “Rule of law” and that is the very foundation of American society. In places where organized religion controls the law there is widespread corruption, abuses of human rights, enslavement of those who disagree, and often extermination of any competing religious views.
Having said the above, I must also point out with all due respect to your right to post as you please that mocking, demeaning and ridiculing any and all organized religions will not get the credibility, recognition or ability to change the hearts and the minds of those who do not truly understand the reasons why what they believe flies in the face of so much physical evidence. Most are simply too busy in life to ever seriously examine the argument and form an educated opinion.
To change a mind you must lead them to the information, ask them the right questions so they understand what they are looking at and then as much as it hurts…..wait till they form an opinion and make a decision that what they held as a believe is not as valid as they had thought. This takes time anyone who expects to beat them into submission and force them to see things as you see them is guilty of exactly what it is the leaders of organized religion are doing to the rest of the non believes.
However when they see someone mocking the very nature of their beliefs, the very symbol, like a cross, it puts them into a defensive position, fight or flight takes over, all unnecessary body functions shut down and they ready for a fight. The first thing that shuts down is the ability or desire to reason to think.
Everything you offer them on an intellectual and reasoned level after you have pissed them off it a waste of time. They have already closed their mind and defined you as the enemy.
Any ways that was just my thoughts on the matter.
It just seemed a waste when you have all the science, physical evidence, and legal support to attack them in a way where they will defend themselves from an attack, when if you treat them with respect and compassion, you may find your greatest allies was your staunchest foe, for the simple reason you treated them with the respect and compassion they were always taught they should exhibit.
“The best leaders of men, will be in front of them, so they can learn by example, not behind them whipping their backs.”
