This one is for my dear friend
..Loves a good fight.., ..I..m a real scrapper.., ..Panda.., ..Curvee......and whatever else my schizophrenic AZ gf is calling herself today.
Since it..s inception I have believed that ..personal sites.. like these appeal to two kinds of people; the self centered, conceited ego-maniacs................(that would be my reason to be here) ..................and the other end of the self esteem scale, those seeking recognition, those seeking some validation from others that they ..fit in.., ..are popular.. or are received with approval from their piers. This is the same group mentality that promotes gangs, groups, clicks, dress codes and many other ways people try to validate their lifestyle or behavior.
Understand here this is an informal online venue created by someone who cannot possible know how others will use it, so I am not passing judgment on the program as it is just a mechanism. It is how some of us use this venue, and how others of us perceive that use that can get us into false perceptions about who we ..know.. online.
Let me be the first to say that a grown person needs to be able to deal with the fact that some will like them, find them interesting, humorous or dare I say cool, ........but at the same time they need to understand that you cannot please everyone and only a great fool would attempt to change themselves to accommodate the wants, likes and desires of total strangers who for the most part could not care less about your wants, needs or desires and are simply in a spectator mode to see what extremes others can and will go to defile , debase and degrade themselves for the amusement and pleasure of a total stranger.
Come on people get a grip on reality here. Just because it is called a ..Friends list.. does not mean those on that list give a rats ass about your well-being. This is a pack mentality like the drive by media, completely lacking in any vestige of individual thought or expression.
Want to set a new record for number of ..friends.. online, this is too easy, advertise online that at midnight on a given date, you will do the most extreme and sick thing you can imagine. Lack imagination; well let me paint a picture you cannot forget to prove my point. Hypothetically for the mental exercise, lets say you are a guy, so you announce all over your public site that you are taking applications for a female member on your ..friends.. list who would like to receive your testicles for earrings ( set in Platinum holders..spare no expense) after you publicly post a live feed on your private site of someone cutting your balls off, perhaps a feminist, that way you provide her with her life long fantasy.
Obviously this only works if you are a male and have the hardware, sorry girls not trying to discriminate, but I..m sure you could imagine something that would make you as useless to the other sex as what I just described.
A friend to me is someone who is loyal to me, honest with me and respects me as an individual. For those traits they earn my loyalty, my honesty and my respect. A relationship is a 2 way street.
Of that very short list of those online only a few have earned my love, and they did that the same way.
Given the choice of the largest list of ..Online Friends.. or a single person who I can share my heart with, well guess I..ll be keeping those earrings after all.
